My dogs have no problem and they are both smaller dogs (21 lbs. and 16 lbs.) Some dogs will just play with peas for fun, but if your dog can't swallow a pea when it really wants to then get your dog to a vet to be sure there is no obstruction in the mouth or larynx.

Dogs have a small esophagus which may not accommodate larger objects like peas, leading to a risk of choking. Peas can also potentially get stuck in a dog's throat or intestines, causing discomfort or blockages. It's safer to avoid giving dogs foods that can be a choking hazard.
