This happened to me. One of my girls, Lavern, was fine one day, then the next, she couldn't walk and her feet were clenched into a tight ball. I searched her entire body and the only thing I found odd was she had a sour crop. So, I started massaging her crop and began feeding her yogurt. I fixed another favorite treat, rice with eggs and cheese.
I thought for sure Lavern was going to die. I put her in another pen, for her safety as well as for the health of my other girls and Roo.
I asked my neighbor, who had many chickens of his own, and he said that here in Florida we have lots of scorpions. Many are small and would not hurt an adult but to a chicken, it could be harmful. He told me that was what happened to one of his chickens. It made sense to me because I have seen small scorpions.
This happened about 3 months ago. But, I am very happy to tell you that with all the babying and gentle massage of Lavern's feet and legs, she is once again walking.
Just be patient and hopefully your chicken will over come this.
Good luck.
One possible cause of leg paralysis in chickens could be a condition known as Marek's disease, which is a viral infection that affects the nervous system. Other potential causes could include injuries, vitamin deficiencies, or exposure to toxins. It is important to consult with a veterinarian to determine the exact cause and appropriate treatment.
If a baby chickens brooder is lined with newspaper, the chick's will develop a condition called spraddled leg. And it's legs wont develop properly. I line my brooder with newspaper and 2-3 inches of wood shavings. (so it is easy to clean up. I just fold the newspaper and the shavings come with it) So, that's what I highly recommend. It has worked great for me.
Yes, if a dog eats a chicken bone, it can cause injury or blockage in their digestive tract, which can lead to pain and difficulty walking. It's important to seek veterinary care if your dog has ingested a bone to prevent any serious complications.
A baby quail cannot have a chicken for its mom. If a chicken and quail were to mate, the quail would likely die. The chicken would kill it. Quail are too delicate to be around the chicken.
If a chicken had a miscarriage there would be no egg, that would be like asking what to do with the baby I had after I miscarried...
Consuming chicken bile can cause various adverse reactions in humans, including nausea, vomiting, and stomach upset. It is not recommended for consumption due to its bitter taste and potential toxic effects. It is important to avoid ingesting chicken bile, as it can be harmful to human health.
Animals can attack after they have become spooked. They can also stress and cause a stampede.
The kid's name was Dante Love. But he was not paralyzed he just had to quit playing football because it would be possible to become paralyzed if he kept playing.
Yes, most of the time it is due to stings from anemones, corals or poisonus fish. I would imagine fish can suffer nerve trauma as well that would cause paralysis.
What would probably cause a forest habitat to become a desert?
Only if it was afraid to tell it's father about it's decision to become a duck.

Seizures are usually a sign of injury or illness. You would need to take it to a farm vet to find out the cause before you can treat it.
No definite answer to that. The problem isn't with breaking the vertebrae, the problem is if you damage the nerves, the spinal cord that runs through the vertebrae. A bad spinal cord injury will make you paralyzed.
