Lions are Apex predators who hunt as a group. So, they can hunt almost any mammal that lives in the forest with them. They have been known to prey on Gazelles, Buffalos, Zebra, Warthogs and even an occasional Giraffe or elephant calf. Lions are ambush hunters. They hunt as a group. They stay low and hidden and go near an unsuspecting prey like a Gazelle or a Zebra and then once sufficiently close, they sprint and take down the prey. All animals of the pride take part in the hunt.

Lionesses mainly eat meat, primarily hunting herbivores such as zebras, antelope, and wildebeest. They have a carnivorous diet and rely on hunting skills to catch prey for themselves and their pride. Lions are skilled predators, working together to isolate, chase, and bring down their prey.
