That color description sounds like it would be called Sorrel. A darker red/brown is sometimes called Chestnut.

There is also a dark brown called Bay that sometimes has some red color to it. The Bay colored horses can be so dark they look black.

There are many names for mixed colour horses depending on the colour pattern.
For example there are paint, appaloosas and roans.

Paint, piebald or pinto horses are two coloured, Black and white or brown and white, most often in large patches.

Appaloosas come in several colour patterns
Blanket - white over the hips or rump, with or without spots of the animal's base colour.
Leopard spot - a heavily patterned horse, often appearing white with multiple spots of various sizes in the animal's base colour.
Leopard, small spot - this pattern exhibits a mostly white surface with minimal (or no) spots of the animal's base colour.
Snowflake - a pattern of small white spots over the animal's base colour.
Frost - similar to the above, often with the spots being small enough to appear like "frost" on the base colour. This marking can occur with other markings or patterns.

Roan horses are recognised by the combination of white and coloured hairs throughout the coat of the animal - they often have points (head, mane, tail and lower legs) in the darker colours. Animals with very dark (black) and white mixes have been called "blue roans," while animals of a (reddish) brown and white mix have been called "strawberry roans."

Dappled grey horses also fit into this category. The horses are born dark (usually black) and grey as the age. The dapple design can (but does not always) appear as part of the greying process. It is a distinctive marking of dark circular patches with lighter grey or white hairs on the inside of the circles. Many consider this pattern very beautiful and highly desirable.
"Flea-bitten" grey is a similar process to the above mentioned dapple, with the dark ahirs being more brown then black and appearing much like freckles.

a white(grey) horse with chestnut(orange) and brown(bay) patches is a skewbald, a white(grey) horse with black patches is a piebald. sometimes referred to as a 'paint' :)

Answer 2: As stated above black and white patched are referred to as Piebald, while any other color and white is called skewbald. However Paint is a breed of American Stock horse, not a color or pattern, Pinto is the pattern. Brown and orange together without any white is not a common color or marking I would suggest having a genetic analysis done to find out the exact color genetics.
