If your guinea pig is lying on it's side it usually means that it is sleeping. Since guinea pigs can't close their eyes for more then ten minutes, you can tell if its sleeping when it lays on it's side and is poking it's leg out. If the guinea pig is sleeping a lot and not eating then the room it is in is too for it and you should probably move it's cage to a colder room in the house.

When a guinea pig lays flat, it could indicate that they are relaxed and comfortable in their environment. However, it could also be a sign of illness or pain, so it's important to monitor their behavior and seek veterinary advice if you notice any concerning symptoms.

They are really sick or dead. :( OR asleep! ...

Hi ,

Guinea pig's usually lay flat on the ground to rest.

If they are comfortable or just resting/sleeping they tend to lay flat on the ground. My guinea pigs do this while they are laying down/resting so it is pretty common. But if your guinea pig is sick, you will see symptoms. --- Guinea pigs will lie down to rest. The guinea pig will not lie down for long, normally, as guinea pigs simply nap, never really sleeping. Hope this helps. :]

Lying on its side instead of on top of its feet is an indication that it is sick. I would suggest taking it to the vet.
