What could happen to a child if kicked by a cow?

It all depends on the size and age of that child. In most cases it is likely that the child will get seriously hurt enough to have to be sent to the hospital, especially if kicked in the torso or even the head. If the cow kicks hard enough or the child is small enough (like one that is around 3 or 4 years old), that kick could kill that child. But if it's a 8 to 12 year old child, it's more probable that they will get injured and possibly get a broken bone, if not serious bruising.

Can a person adopt a cow?

Yes, if the cow is up for adoption. A more common term for animals could be rescued or purchased if the cow had a previous owner. As far as legally adopting a cow as your child, no, that would not be possible.

What would happen if a cow could not belch?

This is exactly what happens when cows get what is called "bloat." A cow that cannot release gases built up in the rumen will die because of the intensifying pressure the rumen puts on the lungs, strangling the cow to death. So to answer your question, the cow would die.
