It depends on the point of view. For example, some people say horseback riding is a sport, others say it is not. The same goes for dancing, Chess, and bird watching. My personal opinion is that it is a sport, because it has a defined goal (spotting and successfully identifying birds) and it is a form of exertion. Of course, my definition of a sport is looser than some peoples'. Some would say a sport has to have teams, (although a Birdwatching group... ) others might say it's not strenuous enough, (but then, if you think about Golf...) and others might say you have to score in some way to consider it a sport. (Of course, some birders keep a life list - a scoresheet of the birds they've seen...)
Like I said, my personal opinion is that yes, birdwatching is a sport. However, a convincing argument could be made for either opinion.

Watching the world of birds through a bird box camera gives you an insight into the drama and action of nesting, watching eggs hatch and following stories of the chicks as they venture into the world.
Field guide books, bird watching apps, bird identification websites, and consulting with experienced bird watchers can all be used to help identify birds based on their physical characteristics, behavior, and habitat.
Bird watching can sometimes trigger a hunting instinct in cats, leading to excitement or frustration if they can't reach the birds. This may cause some stress in cats, but it depends on the individual cat and how they react to seeing birds. Providing appropriate play and enrichment can help redirect their focus.
