Guinea pigs are not pigs at all, but small creatures bigger than rats (and much cuter). They come in different breeds. Some have long hair, some have short hair, and there are different coat patterns and sizes. They are an easy pet to keep as long as you have a cage for them. You don't want to let them run around your house, because they go to the bathroom often. When they are fully grown and old enough, you can buy a special kind of leash and walk them around if you really want to. They are very social animals. They get very lonely if you don't give them enough attention, so if you think that you won't be able to give them as much attention as they need, then get two from the same litter. They will get along very well. They won't love you as much, but then they will have a happier life (if you don't hold them enough). They do make sounds. When you have more than one, they will communicate a lot and they do communicate by making sounds. You need to clean their cage weekly. They live up to 8 years. Also, they wake up when you wake up and fall asleep when you turn out the lights (well, not immediately but around that time). I know that this is a bit much, but I !
Guinea pigs are small rodents that make popular pets due to their gentle nature and low maintenance care. They are social animals that should be kept in pairs or groups. Guinea pigs require a diet high in hay, fresh vegetables, and pellets, as well as a clean living environment and regular veterinary check-ups.
