Yes, all of the fish in the tank could get it. Even if only 1 fish in your tank has it, treat every fish to make sure the parasite gets off.
I noticed one day that one of my little fishie friends had ick, the next day all of my guppies did, and 2 died. If you notice ick on your fish, treat it PRONTO! Or else you might lose a couple. :( :(
Not necessarily. Ich (or white spot disease) is caused by a parasite that can spread between fish. However, if proper treatment and prevention measures are taken promptly, it is possible to contain the spread to other fish in the tank. Regular maintenance and good water quality are important in preventing diseases like ich from affecting multiple fish.
All fish tend to over-eat and can get bloated and die. Any over eating fish can rupture - I think exploding is expecting for too much.
yes and no it all depends on one thing : what kind of energy pyramid it is. lets say if you have clown fish , a bass , and a shark then yes but if you have some sand, crab, shark, clown fish then no sorry but it wont change there has to be 1 producer and some consumers ex.: planton gets eaton by small fish then they get eatin by a bigger fish and the a shark will eat that. hope this helps
Fish, birds, reptiles, dogs, and mammals are all similar in one way. they all have a backbone. ~ann :]
The one that got away - You tell your friend that you were fishing, and the fish that got away was 50cm long.. And then you tell the story again and the fish was 80cm long, then a meter and so on.
Not all fish are toothless. One example of a fish with teeth is the Barracuda. The barracuda is not a shark, but it does have teeth. little ones, in finger lakes usually , just have strong enoguh jaws to eat
Yes, most of the time when fish have ick, all of the fish in the tank get it. If 1 fish in your tank has ick, treat the whole tank.
Yes, ick is highly contagious. Fish get it when they are stressed out, depressed, and/or weak. Ick is believed to be in water already. It spreads very quickly from one fish to another and you have to treat it right away. To treat ick, take the infected fish to a vet or use a home remedy such as salt or heat.
'ick' as in my fish is sick, thee not as in dear one but as in 'I have a lisp but I'm not blind' and 'ologist' with all short vowels jist like all the other 'ologists'.
that is mostly a sign of a common disease known as ick [ tiny white spots on the body if not treated soon fish will die occasionally. ] treatment for this is ick away, ick guard, or something that has to do along the lines of that. if you need help ask someone at the pet store the might be able to tell you. but however there is other common disease that can cause that. im not sure what can but the only one that i know of is ick.
Advantages are one gets food one gets cleaned Disadvantages are Wrasse fish has shorter life span
Fungus/infection is your worst enemy when a fish has a cut. Make sure the water that the fish is in is clean and regularly changed. I would get a fungus preventative (available at most good pet shops) and follow the directions on the bottle/packet.

It is the "boy" fish... the one that doesn't have the babies. A male fish is a fish that is a boy.
If they weren't always there it is probably ICK. You need to go to a pet store and get a treatment to put in the water. It will spread to all of the fish and it can be deadly. You will need to empty the aquarium, clean it, and treat the fresh water. Good luck because once it gets so bad it is almost impossible to get rid of it. The white bumps are an indicator of ick (Ichthyophthirius multifilis) but the red bumps are usually the first sign of a bacterial infection that is known to cause ulcers to form. You may need to treat for both simultaneously if you want to save the fish. An easy way to do this is to feed the fish an antibacterial food while treating for ick with copper or formalin (or whatever you choose) this is usually one of the safest ways to double up medications without running the risk of overdosing. I have found that in treating fish for any type of parasites (including ick) it helps to raise the tanks salt concentration to 0.3%, and when treating ick specifically its also recommended to raise the tanks temperature to about 80 F (26.67 C), this speeds up the parasites life cycle and causes them to die faster.
A fish is one fish and fish fish is two fish.
That is perfectly normal for the most part. If you have more than one fish in the tank, the other fish may be inclined to take the food before the other fish gets to it. If the eating disorder continues you should try to feed the fish separately. Comment and tell me how it worked.
