Salmon oil and Evening Primrose oil are two that a cat can benefit greatly from. Evening Primrose oil contains vitamins and fatty acids that promote healthy supple skin and soft, glossy fur. Salmon oil also helps lubricate joins also which an elderly cat may benefit greatly from. Both these oils can be found in most health shops and only a few drops are added to the cat's meals several times a week.

It is not recommended to give cod liver oil to cats due to its high vitamin A content, which can be toxic to them in high doses. If you are looking to supplement your cat's diet with omega-3 fatty acids, it is best to use fish oil specifically designed for cats and follow the recommended dosage provided by your veterinarian.

It is not ideal to feed a cat Cod Liver Oil. Cod Liver Oil is very high in Vitamin A, which in larger doses can harm the cat.

Salmon Oil does the exact same thing as cod liver oil in the way it promotes healthy skin, fur and joints. Salmon oil is made from the whole fish and not just the fish's liver, ensuring the nutrients and fatty acids are much more balanced.

Are cod liver oil liquid and cod liver oil tablets the same?

They both contain cod liver oil. However, cod liver oil in the capsule form can be considered as pure cod liver oil, while cod liver oil in the liquid form usually contains flavourings, otherwise it would be rather disgusting to eat. So the percentage of cod liver oil in the capsule form is higher.
