yes they do have better hearing
There is no specific number that I know of that describes how much "better" a dogs hearing is to humans. Dogs can hear better 1. because of the shape of their ears (larger and more cup-shaped than humans) and the muscles that allow the dogs ears to twist and turn to catch sounds, and 2. because dogs have a much higher range of hearing than humans. The typical human can hear anything between 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, while the typical dog can hear anything from 40 Hz to 60,000 Hz!
A dog's nose is better than a pig's becuase a dog's nose is 1,000 to 10,000 times better than a human's but a pig's isn't much better. In conclusion a dog's nose has a higher sense of smell, therefore, it is better.
Dogs and most animals rely on their hearing more than we do. As humans, we rely on eyesight and primates overall have better eyes than other animals.
