You should Get 2 to 4 but make sure they are either all females or males. but i should warn you Male guinea pigs tend to fight Alot they fight each other.Females just relax and are careful. If you want to get your guinea pig pregnant 1. Put a male and femael together just them to not the rest of the pack.2. Ask a professional how to get them pregantn. They have to be a certain age, in order to be able to. Which I dont what age that is.
HOPE I HELPED ^_^
it all depends how big your cage is if it's small 1 medium maybe 2 or 3 large 2 and maybe have babies. then it depends if your home alot and always have time to it play with it and give it attention then its okay to get one with a small cage but it needs a friend if not, also make sure it always has somwhere to hide and lots of space to run and jump (pop) they are really harmless shy animals I've had alot of experience you can see on my message board but i do not know those big crazy genetic questions you have to be awesome to know that stuff
Pigs typically give birth to 8-12 piglets in one litter, although this number can vary.
Pot-bellied pigs usually have a litter size of around 5-8 piglets, but can have anywhere from 1 to 14 piglets in a single litter.
A sow will come into heat every 21 days, but once she is pregnant, the gestation period lasts 115 days. She has to nurse the piglets before becoming pregnant again, so a sow will typically only reproduce twice a year.
A piglet's mother is called a sow. Mature male pigs are called boars, while mature female pigs are called gilts. After they have had a litter, they are called sows from then on. This includes after their piglets from their first litter have been weaned.
normally 2 - 3 but a first litter can just be one, it also can be up to about 8. in a rare circumstance i have seen 13 but they all died, if you are an expert you may be able to feel them but do not attempt otherwise because you can harm them if not sure what your doing
The first litter a female guinea pig gives birth to usually numbers in at around 2. After the first litter, the average number of piglets per litter climbs to about 4. The minimum number being one and the maximum being 8.

A litter of guinea pigs can range anywhere from one to six babies. Because of this large variation, I find it is helpful to breed two females at a time so that they can care for each other's young. Guinea pigs are very social creatures by nature, so keeping mutliple guinea pigs together is a good idea.

The largest recorded litter of piglets is 37, born to a sow in the UK in 2016.
A female pig will have her first litter of piglets when she is about one year old. The sow is pregnant for about 4 months, and usually a sow will give birth to around 8 to 12 pigs at a time. A sow can have 2 litters each year. That means that a mother pig can give birth to over 20 piglets each year! Please see the attached related link for more information.
Well, my guinea pig had 8 on her first liter. I think they usually have four or so babies a guinea pig has 2 to 6 babies in one litter.

Would you believe the word is FARROP!. Found it on the internet! Not correct. The term farrop is only used when the pig actually gives birth to the piglets - the birthing process. Pigs have litters just like dogs and cats. Signed - Dr. Greg Gagnon, DVS could you please tell me the correct term for a litter of piglets is it farrop or not The better answer is: farrow
Pigs can have as little as one but as high as 16, average is around 7 to 8. There is a big difference between number born and the number that a mother hog can raise. They could have 1 to about 5. Sometimes more.
