It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for a dwarf hamster to adjust to its new environment. Providing a quiet and comfortable space, as well as handling the hamster gently and regularly, can help them feel more secure and settle in faster. Each hamster is unique, so patience and understanding are key during this adjustment period.
definitley syrian. they live longer and are waaay less wild then dwarf hamsters. the dwarfs we used to have batted bit and were wild. the syrians and teddy bear hamsters we had were calm and easy to take care of. First time owner: don't hold your hamster for the first couple of days or they may get wet tail :)
Hamster do not have a long life spand maybe 1 to 3 years if you take really good care of them.
It's difficult to generalize which hamster breed is the nicest as each hamster has its own unique personality. Syrian hamsters are often considered to be friendly and good-natured, but individual temperament can vary. A hamster's level of friendliness can also depend on how well it has been socialized and handled since being young.

Hamsters shouldn't be washed under water unless of an emergency. If you have a dwarf hamster, it might like a dust bath to freshen its fur. Otherwise, only wash hamster if it absolutely needs to be washed. (For Example: gum stuck in its fur)If you must wash the hamster, wash it in warm water and dry it immediately with a hand towel. It can easily die from hypothermia if it is wet.
