If your hamster has cancer or a sickness it will usually sleep most of the night when it should be awake. It might stop eating as much as it used too and would not look very good. My first hamster got very sick and i think it might have been some sort of cancer. To prevent sickness make sure you feed your hammy lots of fruits and veggies. Take them out to play every night and never interrupt its sleep or bother it when it is grooming. Clean your hammy's cage once or twice a week (depending on how many you have.) Give it fresh water once, twice or three times a week.
A tumor on a hamster can appear as a visible lump or swelling on the body. The tumor may vary in size and shape, and it can be either firm or soft to the touch. A vet should examine any abnormal growth on a hamster to determine if it is a tumor and assess appropriate treatment options.
Nothing is made in a mothers stomach. Do you mean womb? A baby hamster is made in the mother hamsters womb, and then born. This proccess is the same with all mammals (apart from duckbilled platypus) including humans.
Yes, it would be a good idea to monitor your other hamster closely for any signs of illness or changes in behavior. Tumors can sometimes be genetic or caused by environmental factors, so it's important to keep an eye on your remaining hamster's health. If you notice any concerning symptoms, it would be best to consult with a veterinarian.
Tumors grow very rapidly in hamsters. I found a tumor in my one-year old dwarf hamster the size of a pea three days ago, and it had doubled in size in one day. She just had the tumor removed today and she is doing fine now. I would suggest getting the tumor removed if money isn't too tight and you really love your hamster - most vets have cheaper pocket pet rates, so the total vet bill might be between $150 & $200, much less than a cat or dog.Not long.I am VERY sorry for anyone frantically searching for the answer to this...but the cold truth is: Go find a shovel and a nice box to bury him/her in. :( For future hamsters, be sure to keep them out of SAWDUST. You would think wood shavings and wood dust are the same but they ARE NOT. Sawdust will give a hamster a tumor in as soon as the same day. I did not know this in time, and my sweet baby (Oreo) died at 1 year from getting a tumor from sawdust from the wood floor we were having re-done. :(
It could be a variety of things such as an abscess, tumor, or infection. It's important to take your hamster to a veterinarian for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
I'm sorry to say that my hamster had an enlarged stomach and smelt lot, also he had diarrhoea, it turned out that he had a large tumor in his stomach. You could tell he wasn't eating just hiding food because he was so thin on top.
What is a spindle cell tumor in the stomach?

Take it to the hospital if i were you. If you did that than hope he/she lives. Sorry bout your hamster
you should definitely take her to the vet. If she has a hole in her stomach it could possibly be a tumour. Take her to the vet really quickly. Better safe than sorry.
If she begins to breathe heavily and has a big stomach, eats alot and runs on the wheel also!
it wqill have a lump on its butt
She ate herself
I would not attemp to remove the tumor myself (one of my hamsters had a tumor) but to take it to a vet to have it surgically removed if they think necessary.
you should ask your local vet about that...
hamster tumors are just the same as a humans. When you start to feel small or large bumps on a hamster you will know that its a sign and you should immediately take your hamster to the vet, and they will see what they can do, or if your hamster is in pain, they can put your hamster to sleep humanely.
No. Your stomach will digest the tumor and you will have to crap it out eventually.
