How do you know if the chrysalis is dead?

There are a few ways to tell if a moth is dead. It will not be moving and it will have no reaction to anything.

If you have it in a container or place to hold it, if you tip it upside down, then the moth would either fall and move a bit or stick. If it sticks and moves its wings, it might still be alive, if it drops and stays still, it's dead and if it drops and moves its wings or legs, it's definetely still alive.

If a chrysalis is dead, it will turn dark or black, become shriveled, and emit a foul odor. A live chrysalis will usually stay firm, maintain its color, and show signs of movement or responsiveness when touched.

For me, a moth's antennae would still move. if they aren't moving, then it may be dead. it would also be kicking its leg around slightly, or its legs and antenna would be vibrating/shaking.
