How do you know if your goat is blind?

I have a female albino guinea pig. She is 6 years old and getting very old. Recently i noticed she was not acting normal. I realised that unless i showed her the food she would not eat it and when you wave your hand in front of the guinea pig it will not run away and blink.Unless your guinea pig is very old (4,5 or 6) there is no need to worry as it is just with age but if he/she is younger I suggest that you take him/her to the vets as soon as possible.

If a goat can't see it is blind. try to see if you can make it walk into an object like a wall, or a cardboard box that's on the ground. if it walks in the object, then it is quite possible for that goat to be blind

Test ur goat's eye reaction, and see if it can avoid obstacles properly. Another way to do this is to call the veterinary or at least some kinda animal doctor to check its eyesight.

- pinkeye (keratoconjunctivitis)

- Vitamin A deficiency

- lead poisoning

- bacterial meningitis

- juvenile form of CAE

- polioencephalomalacia

- listeriosis

- FSE

- scrapie

- louping ill

- pregnancy toxaemia

and certain plant poisonings (eg rape).
