Cats are curious and social mammals. They relate very well to humans which is why they are so beloved by cat fanciers!

If this is your own cat and you are its main human you will come to a relationship cemented by days of feeding and petting and cleaning up after your pet. Playing with it is paramount to creating that bond, as cats love to play.

If the cat you want to like you belongs to someone else then it is as simple as bringing a toy for the cat to play with that has your personal odor on it. It can be something as simple as a long shoelace that you and the cat play with for a while. Soon the cat will be bringing you the shoelace to play with some more.

Other toys work well, too. Bottom line: Play with the cat and/or brush it with its favorite brush--gently at first and then give it a good thorough brushing. Cats never forget who brushes them!

Good luck ;-))

Answer= You can think of cats as a human. If you attempt too hard by always being around it petting it holding it, the cat might feel uncomfortable. the best thing you can do is to give it time. Allow the cat to approach you when it feels like , give it mild attention, feed it, give it treats, dont make loud noises. If the cat becomes acustomed to you it might allow you to get closer with it and you can become very close. What you can do is take steps into building a friendship. Older cats are better to take step by steps while small kittens need much attention. Go into a bathroom and shut the door, place a towel on the floor and a small catbed. place toys around and sit there with him. Try to let it smell your hand and carefully see if you can pet it. If you cant keep trying give it treats, if it does you might be able to hold it and become instant friends. Cats will always be afraid and so dont get frustrated becasue cats can sense stress that will ultimately make them anxious and weary.

To get a cat to like you, you must play with it and feed it well. Try not to pick it up to often because it may hurt or annoy the cat.

One way is play. They love fast moving toys. May I suggest one of those feathers on a long stick. Warning though do not leave this lying around for your young one . As the feathers can come off and cause choking. Another is grooming. Combing them softly as you speak in low tones makes for a connection. A light wet rag wiped over them give them a feeling of comfort. Hope this helped.

Be nice to it, be gentle, play with it, cuddle, and love it!

Answer

If it is a new cat, give it time and space to get used to you and the environment. Give the cat attention and if it wants to go, let it. I've had both kinds. My current cat is a Maine coon and he loves being held, sitting on my lap or being in the same room.

try and make sure that when you feed it it watches you then it will see you are being generous to it. Then give it a scratch if your cat bites then just gently pat it and pull away slowly if it does. Also if it has a ball or a toy play with your cat.

i am sorry if this information is not helpful to you as i do not know your cat in person.

Wear a necklace with treats on it XD

indrduce your self dont be scared of it relax and give it a treat.

If it is your cat in your home, then you can try to put nice looking shelves on the wall so the cat can get from one to another like a staircase going up the wall. You can also go a step farther and at the top shelf, put a shelf near the ceiling going all around the room so the cat can walk around the room on the shelf. Make sure the shelves are anchored to the wall so they will not fall off when the cat runs or lays on the edge. This will calm most cats down enough to have a relationship with your cat on the couch next to you more often because they can be up above instead of under things. This has been known to help the cat feel more confident in it's domain. Give it time, you might be surprised what happens. -RJ

The best way to foster trust and affection from a cat is to bring it food. Start bringing a plate of food to where you most often see the cat. Do this every day. If you can manage to get the cat to see you putting the food down, even better.

It may take a few weeks, but eventually the cat will begin to associate you with the arrival of food. This is really the basic foundation to a pet/owner relationship: being the person who feeds them.

As for what food to bring, dry cat food is probably best, because it will not get rotten, or dry out and get crusty, before the cat can eat it. I would suggest Innova or Innova/Evo dry food. Most cats can't get enough of it. You can buy it at Petco or other pet stores that sell high-quality cat food.

Once the cat is comfortable being in your presence, you can tentatively start to pet it. Don't rush this, because if you are too aggressive, the cat will get scared again. First, put your hand out, palm up, and let the cat sniff your hand. Then, you can start slowly -- SLOWLY -- scratching its head, and its chin, and behind its ears, and stroking down the length of the back. Don't touch the belly or paws, as most cats don't like that, especially from a stranger.

If this goes well, then sit down, and see if the cat climbs on your lap. If the cat gets in your lap and settles down and starts purring, then it's probably about ready for you to take it home, or to a shelter, or whatever you want to do.

First, get up and walk away and see if the cat follows you. If not, then try picking it up and carrying it. It might not like being carried, and may be scared of leaving its comfort zone, so it's normal if it squirms a bit and tries to escape. Once you get it home and start treating it like a normal pet -- feeding it, providing it with clean litter and water and affection -- the pet/owner relationship will be cemented.

Why might a cat be trembling and crying and what should you do to help?

You should take it to the vet it might be seriously ill. Also give it plenty of reassurance and attention. A trembling, crying cat could mean it is very scared or sick or in pain. It is ideal to get it to the vet as soon as possible, just in case something is wrong. If something has changed in the house (moved furniture, new furniture/pet/visitor), it could the be the cat is scared. Many cats do not like new things and often become scared and stressed - possibly to the point of trembling. If the cat has been checked by a vet and proclaimed healthy, it may be ideal to leave the cat where it is, or put it in a quiet room until it recovers. The cat will come out of hiding when it is ready. Get the cat to the vet.

Name an animal that's probably scared to death of cats?

Mice are known to be scared of cats because they are natural predators for them. The presence of a cat can cause fear and stress in mice, leading them to avoid areas where they might encounter a cat.

What should you do if your old cat is scared of your new cat?

Cats' are generally very stubborn, so if your old cat 'doesn't like'/'is scared of' your new cat, then there is very little hope of them becoming pally with each other. If you're lucky they'll avoid each other, otherwise, it's time to pick a favourite, and let the runner-up sleep outside, or their fighting could lead to hefty vet bills. :/ Sorry.

What is the sound a mad cat makes?

They make aloud screech if they just got hurt. If they don't want to be held or touched, they let out a long meow or a sharp loud one. I have three cats. And one isn't very nice. If the cat's wimping they let out a low meow you can tell immediately that the cat is hurt. If your cat is angry or scared, it might growl or hiss at the thing it is mad at. or if it is scared it might puff up its fur to look bigger.

What does it mean when cats puff at other cat?

When a cat puffs at another cat, it is a defensive behavior known as "hissing." Cats hiss to express fear, aggression, or discomfort. It is a warning signal to the other cat to back off and can be a precursor to a potential conflict.
