To calm an aggressive dog, first ensure your safety by maintaining a safe distance and avoiding direct eye contact. Try to remove the source of the aggression if possible. Speak calmly and use body language to show you are not a threat. Consider seeking the help of a professional dog trainer or behaviorist to address the underlying cause of aggression.
With an aggressive dog, most people recommend to humanely euthanize them. But many peole love their dogs such as me. We have an aggressive Jack Russell Terrier and whenever we have parties or something, we keep him locked on the side of the house with food and water(of course) and we let him out when everyone leaves we also give him and my other dog a boxer(who isn't aggressive) the leftover food from the party. That is my opinion and what we do but you should consult a professional dog trainer or something. This is just an opinion so see what other people say or you can if you want to take my advice
This can depend on the aggression. It would be highly advisable to first get the dog checked out by a vet in order to rule out any medical problems or injuries that may cause a dog to become aggressive.
If no medical issue is found, then seeking out a good and experienced dog behaviourist is recommended. There are many types of aggression: Fear/Nervous Aggression to dogs or people, Frustration Aggression, Territorial Aggression and Possessive Aggression are all some types of aggression in dogs, and each one needs to be worked with differently (please see Related Links below for full list). Seek out behaviourists that promote positive reinforcement and understanding.
