When a baby bird is fed by it's parents, most of the time it is with regurgitated food. This food has already started the digestive process, so the baby is receiving all the fluids it needs from it's parents, and the foods they provide. If you find a baby bird, and can not find the nest near by, do not try to give it any liquids. They can inhale the liquids and either drown or develope pneumonia.
