The Galapagos Islands were discovered by accident in 1535 when a Spanish bishop drifted off course while sailing to Peru. The islands were not officially surveyed until 1793 when a research mission led by James Colnett created the first detailed maps of the archipelago.
Sailfish are known for their large dorsal fin, which resembles a sail, and their long, slender bodies. Swordfish, on the other hand, have a long, flat bill-like structure resembling a sword. Additionally, sailfish are typically faster swimmers and more acrobatic, while swordfish are known for their strength and endurance.
