well it's not too hard to tell......just follow thease steps. # carfully reach in to its habitat and very,"VERY" carfully pick it up and see if it moves. if it does, then its alive.if not continue to step 2. 2. smell......if it smells like rotten meat(or fish),i'm sorry to say........its probably dead. ps. feed your crab. it will eat anything from dead fish to flaked fishfood.
