Lizards vary greatly in size. From the scaly-eyed gecko which can fit on the eraser of a pencil to the six-foot long killer Komodo dragon, it's pretty easy to say there is no standard cookie-cutter size for a "lizard."
it depends on the species

there is a great variation in lizard sizes. the biggest lizard is a komodo dragon, they can get up to 9.8 feet but are illegal to keep as pets unless you have a zoo license (because they are carnivorous, have toxic saliva and have been known to eat people). the smallest lizard is a Sphaerodactylus Ariasae, it is about 3/4 of an inch and can curl up on a dime. they are probably really hard to get a hold of if not imposable. a medium sized lizard that i really recommend for beginners is a bearded dragon. they get about 2.5 feet and are relatively easy to take care of.

.............. wow Im wondering from the person that answered above , if biggest lizard is komodo dragon at 9.8 feet, then how do you explain aligatore & crockadiles at 12 even 15 feet long , LOL

They grow- well actually, it depends on the lizard- some grow to about 3 feet long, but some only grow to 8 inches!

The Komodo dragon (a monitor lizard) may grow to almost ten feet long.
