They can when they are stressed and usually get a little pale at bed time and when they first start moving in the morning. If they are pale for long periods of time or constantly throughout the day then it's probably stress related. Check your water parameters and anything you've changed recently. As long as they are still swimming actively and eating like normal and aren't breathing fast and haven't been pale long they are probably fine.

Why do dead bodies turn yellow?

Well there are more variables in this question than you might realize, it would depend on what he died from, like liver failure or disease can make you turn yellow or jaundice, most people get pale kind of grayish white, if you die from lack of oxygen you tend to turn blue first. If you are black in skin color you usually tend to look pretty gray, if you are Asian or Hispanic kinda yellowish pale so it all depends on the color your skin was before you die and what the cause of death is.

Is it normal for a blood parrot fish to turn from a deep dark orange to a pale color?

There are 3 reason they change color. 1. it's a female 2. fish color is not strong genetically and the color they put on and in fish is getting discolor. There are 3types of original parrot fish, dark yellow, bright orange & pale orangee red with grey backand red at the belly. Dark yellow - lowest grade color (usually will be dyed with reddish purple to produce a grade purple parrot) will lose color if put under sun/uv Bright orange-highiest color grade, natural color will not lose color no matter how, but look ugly when young Pale orangee red with grey backand red at the belly.- usually is female & change into darker color when put in pairs or with few fish Few other types which are unicorn, domino-stripe & lumpy head type but only selling like hot cakes in Asia. I guess ur fish is just .... but need to see picture. u can send it to me ssphoon@TM.net.my They BP is my favourite fish, they are dam m intelligent, don't believe then observe them. Regards.

If you keep a goldfish in a dark room it will turn a bit pale?

Depending on how long the fish is in there it could cause the fish to be paler in appearance. This is because the pigmentation cells in the fish's scales that control color cannot work without light. Another reason why a fish might look paler is if they're are sick with a serious illness like tuberculosis.
