Like many invertebrates, most sponges are hermaphroditic.

Hermaphroditism occurs when both male and female organs of sexual reproduction are present in one individual.

Hermaphrodite animals are seldom self-fertilizing. The spermatozoa and ova either mature at different times, or the male and female external organs are located so that self-fertilization is impossible. or by budding

Yes, sponges can reproduce both sexually and asexually. They can reproduce asexually through a process called budding, where new individuals grow from existing ones. They can also reproduce sexually by releasing sperm and eggs into the water for fertilization to occur.

It can reproduce either sexually or asexually.
Sponges can reproduce sexually and asexually. When using asexual reproduction, the sponges simply use a process called Budding. To reproduce sexually, sponges make the sperm at a certain time of year. Then at another time of year, they make the eggs, and shoot them out the mouth, and hopefully they will find another sponge, be sucked up through the pores and unite with a sperm to eventually grow into a new sponge.

Sponges can reproduce asexually, that's for sure. They reproduce by an asexual process called budding. I think they can also reproduce sexually, too.
