Decomposers do not their own food. These animals are born to break down the wastes left by the animals around them.
Decomposers break down organic matter into simpler components like carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus. These elements are then released back into the environment as inorganic nutrients. Producers, such as plants, can then take up these nutrients from the soil or water to support their growth and development.
Decomposers break down wastes of animals and plants(dead leaves and roots) into fertile topsoil with lots of humus. plants grow better in that soil and the herbivores and omnivores eat the plants. and the carnivores and some omnivores eat those herbivores. Its basically the food chain.
Mussels are filter feeders that primarily feed on plankton and other small particles in the water. They filter these particles from the water for food, rather than breaking down dead organic matter as decomposers do.
If we didn't have decompsers then everything below it in the food chain would be dead by now. The plants and insects that eat the plants. and the animals that eat the plants. but it the animal dies there wouldn't be decomposers to finish them. Which later then starve the carnivores. The grass will be overgrown and insects will produce drastically
No frogs are not decomposers, they are consumers. Decomposers make things rot, in other words they break down and recycle dead things. They help turn dead stuff into good fertile soil. Bacteria and fungi are decomposes because they decompose or break down dead stuff in the environment. Producers like plants produce their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. Consumers include things like frogs, humans, rabbits, and any other animal that eat other animals and plants.
Decomposers
no... they'll eat anything dead
The organism's are called detrivores, or decomposers.
Decomposers are found in the soil. Fungi, bacteria and earthworms are examples of decomposers that eat dead plants and animals.
producers make, consumers eat what things are made like plants, decomposers eat dead things/ dead consumers.
Plants take up the phosphate ions from the soil. The phosphates then moves from plants to animals when herbivores eat plants and carnivores.
generally decomposers are NOT plants, they are microscopic fungi and bacteria
Decomposers obtain food by, obliviousely, decomposing rotting plants, leaves etc. They also might eat dead animals.
Decomposers release phosphorus into the soil from decaying animals and plants. Plants can now take up the phosphates in the soil. When animals eat the plants, they then have phosphates in them and they are released back into the soil through waste and decompostion (decaying).
Decomposers- Convert waste into nutrients that can can be used by plants Scavengers- Go around and eat the remains of the already dead organisms.
A worm is a decomposer because worms eat waste. They eat dead or decaying organisms such as dead leaves, road kill, dead plants, etc. However they do not eat decaying/rotting foods. Scavengers eat rotting food not decomposers.
Seeds and plants are not decomposers. They are producers.
