They don't necessarily stop breathing while they sleep. They are taking very deep breaths but are still very alert. Every cat needs to breath to live, just like us. We can hold out breaths but not for long periods of time.

Do cats take new born babies breath away?

No, the idea that cats intentionally suffocate newborn babies by "stealing their breath" is a myth. Cats may be curious or drawn to the warmth or scent of a baby, but they do not pose a threat to a baby's breathing. It's important to always supervise interactions between pets and young children, regardless of the type of pet.

Cats may help to deter snakes due to their predatory instincts and ability to catch small creatures. However, this is not a foolproof method for keeping snakes away, as some snakes can be too large or dangerous for cats to handle. It's best to take additional precautions, such as keeping your yard clean and free of places where snakes can hide, to discourage snakes from coming near your home.

How do cats breath?

Cats breathe through their nose and mouth, using their diaphragm to inhale and exhale. They have a specialized respiratory system that allows them to efficiently take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. Cats have a natural ability to regulate their breathing rate, which helps them adapt to different levels of activity and stress.
