A teddy bear hamster and black bear hamster are the exact same animal, both are given "fancy" names in pet stores but are properly called Syrian Hamsters. They, of course, can mate. This is a difficult process though and the female has to be monitored closely. When she's in heat (about every 3-4 days), she'll raise her tail when you run your hand down her back. At this point, she can be put into the male's cage or place them both in neutral territory (NEVER put the male in her cage, she will kill him). Once mated, separate them immediately. If she became pregnant, you'll see signs around her second week of pregnancy. She'll give birth about three-four weeks after mating.
Make sure you have homes for the babies BEFORE breeding! She can have up to 15! Most pet stores will NOT take babies from someone who isn't a breeder.
yes but watch them when they meet they might fight I am not an expert but I am pretty sure that they can if you have any more Q: about hamsters please contact me @ Samantha.loo1@Yahoo.com
In general, it is not recommended to breed different species of hamsters as it can lead to health complications for the offspring. Different species of hamsters have different chromosome numbers and can result in hybrid health issues such as reproductive problems and genetic abnormalities. It is best to avoid attempting to mate different types of hamsters.
the female hamster will mate straight away :)
No, hamsters are incapable of parthenogenic reproduction.
If the male is with the female when she is in heat, they will mate. It's pretty much a given. They should be separated, inbreeding leads to weak litters.
It is important to wait until your hamster is mature enough before allowing them to mate, typically around 3-4 months of age. Make sure both hamsters are in good health and that you have the proper knowledge and resources to care for potential offspring before allowing them to mate.
yes.
a hambear will be made
i don't think so.
No. One is a Syrian Hamster, the other is a Dwarf Hamster. They are not the same species, they are not even the same genus.
Depends what you mean by 'type'. If you mean can a Syrian Hamster mate with a 'teddy bear', 'black bear', 'fancy' hamster, etc, then all these names are simply variants of the Syrian, and are different species. Therefore they can all freely breed together. A syrian hamster though cannot be bred with dwarf hamsters, or European hamsters, these are different species.
yes it's ok, they are both hampsters.
Any male will usually mate with any female, but that does not mean that itâ??s safe to mate the two. There are a few breeding pairings to avoid.
the black bear mate in June and July
You should not buy your hamster a companion. If your hamster is a dwarf hamster then you shouldn't because they weren't raised together and they may tend to fight. If they were raised together then it wouldn't be a problem. If you own a teddy bear hamster also known as the Syrian hamster you wouldn't be able to have a companion in the cage with them even if they were raised together. Once your Teddy Bear hamster has mated then you should remove the male hamster because he may eat the young. Especially after the mother has given birth you should keep the father separate or any other male hamster because as soon as she has given birth she goes into heat again and they will mate again and in a few days she will give birth again. Teddy Bear hamsters are sometimes known for eating their young. If your hamster has young then once they are weined from their mother's milk then you should remove them from the cage because she may eat her young.
maybe one is really a boy . my friends had a hamster and the store guy said it was a boy , and then it had babies.. so..

I'm not quite sure, but dwarf hamsters types can tolerate other hamsters. Fancy black bears, I assume aren't in that category, so they must be pretty territorial.
