Why was Bella hesitant in eclipse?

I guess no one knowsaccept the author but I think that he loved her from the very beginning but her scent was just to tempting in the beginning..

ANSWERin midnight sun...edward explained at the begining that he did not even find Bella atrractive nor interesting. It wasnt until Alice saw the future of them together after he saved her from the van. Edward was going to moveto be rid of her smell and desire to kill her and she convinced him that after some time he will be in love with her! he still didnt believe that he could be in love with a human until he started to get to know her. Then he fell madly in love with her even before she realized she even had feelings for him because he knew they were meant to be together....
