I've got the book right here in front of me! Lets see...
It happens in two chapters: Unexpected Guests and Fire in the Sky.
The actual attack starts on page 306 and ends on page 335. That's 29 pages. Eragon first sees Murtagh and Thorn at the bottom of page 310. The battle between Eragon and Murtagh begins on page 317 and ends on page 329. Murtagh and Thorn escaped and flew away to Uru'baen on page 329 and page 330. The last soldier of the Laughing Dead attack died on page 335.
Hope that helps!
The defeat of Murtagh in "Brisingr" occurs on pages 742-746 in the hardcover edition of the book.
Nothing that important
No, he is still alive at the end.
Galbatorix does while possessing Murtagh's body.
Thorn. He appears at the end of Eldest and reappears several times in Brisingr. Through Murtagh and Thorn, Galbatorix is able to kill Oromis and Glaedr at theend of Brisingr.
"Brisingr" is the third book in the "Inheritance Cycle" series by Christopher Paolini. It follows the story of Eragon, a young Dragon Rider, as he continues his quest to defeat the evil king Galbatorix. Throughout the book, Eragon faces challenges, discovers new powers, and deepens his relationships with allies such as Saphira, Arya, and Roran. The book ends with a climactic battle and sets the stage for the final installment in the series.
IN ELDEST ERAGON FINALLY LEARNS THAT MURTAGH IS HIS BROTHER. ALSO RORAN'S FUTURE WIFE IS KIDNAPPED BY THE RA'ZAC AND RORAN AND THE REST OF CARVAHALL GO TO THE BATTLE FIELD WHERE THE VARDEN AND ERAGON ARE FIGHTING. MURTAGH ALSO GETS HIS DRAGON. IN BRISINGR RORAN AND KATRINA MARRY, OROMIS AND GLAEDER DIE, AND THE VARDEN TAKE OVER FEINSTER.
In the part where eragon battles murtagh, the song "taking you down," by Egypt Central relates to the battle well, in my opinion.
There are approximately 290,000 words in the 748-page book "Brisingr" by Christopher Paolini.
Don't read this if you have not finished Eldest! Its his brother, Murtagh, who actually isn't his brother as brom is his father, read the third book, it expains it all!
Eragon is Brom's son. Eragon and Murtagh are brothers through their mother Selena. Morzan is Murtagh's father, but Brom is Eragons so that makes Murtagh Eragon's half brother. It was revealed in the third book Brisingr that Eragon's real father is Brom, not Morzan as it was told in the second book Eldest.
In the novel "Brisingr" by Christopher Paolini, some of the rising actions include Eragon's continued training with Oromis, the discovery of the Ra'zac in Helgrind, the revelation of Murtagh's true identity, and the formation of plans to rescue Roran from imprisonment in Uru'baen. These events build tension and propel the story towards its climax.
All of the books have Murtagh in them, but some more then others. I personally like "Inheritance" Best. Murtagh is in that book more then "Eldest" Or "Brisingr". In "Inheritance", Murtagh falls(Likes) for Nausuada( Sorry that I spelled that wrong). He ends up hanging out with her a lot in inheritance since she has been captured. They end up becoming friends, and in the all in all it's cute. Anyway I would read that if you do what I do, which is skip to the parts with him in it. :) Read Inheritance. Even though the end made me mad, you will just have to read it. :) :)
