Damon is out fo revenge of the death of Katherine. there was a love triangle between stephan, Damon, and Katherine. but, since Elena looks exactly like Katherine, Damon starts falling for Elena because he thinks she is the reincarnation of Katherine. obviously another love triangle form between Damon, stephan, and Elena.-- Elena likes stephan. stephan likes Elena. Damon likes Elena. the story is basically about all the troubles that face stephan and Elena so they could be together.
