Will, Chester and Cal go with Tam`s driend, after his death and go into the deeper part to find about Drake and Elliot. It is revealed at the end of tunnels that Rebbeca is a twin. In book 2, Deeper, it is revealed Rebecca is a twin, and Elliot and Cal die. Will finds out about his real mother, who is shot by Drake. Drake gets shot but survives.
In the end of the book "Tunnels" by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams, Will and his friend Chester emerge from the underground civilization to find themselves in the wilderness. They have to navigate new dangers and mysteries as they search for a way back home to the surface. The ending sets up for the following books in the series, continuing their adventures.
