A teenage boy named Ethan Wate in a town called Gatlin can't wait to leave his town where nothing new ever seems to happen. He's been having creepy dreams about this girl who he's never met before where she constantly slips from his grasp and possibly to her death. He lives with a woman named Amma and his father, who hardly ever comes out of his study where he is supposedly writing a book. His mother died a while ago, so Amma takes full care of him. Amma is also into card reading and voodoo, which comes in handy when a new girl, Lena Duchannes, comes to town. After several shocking events, Ethan begins to realize that Lena is the beautiful girl from his dreams. They hang out together, since no one else at school, besides Ethan's friend Link, want to talk to Lena. Once Ethan learns more about Lena and her creepy family, like her uncle Macon, the town shut-in, things begin to change. Ethan realizes that the boring town Gatlin may hold some exciting secrets that can lead to tragic events. Ethan and Lena then have an "adventure" as to save her from the claiming on her sixteenth birthday.

It's really good and I just couldn't stop reading it! It's a trilogy so far. It's under Young Adult and the genre is probably a little bit of Gothic, Romance, and Fantasy. Read it!
