WWI was fought from 1914 to 1918, mostly in the trenches of northern Europe (Belgium and Northern France) but also in Eastern Germany, Northern Italy, Salonica, Gallipoli, the Middle East, Arabia, Mesopotamia, East Africa, and on the oceans all over the world. The European Imperial powers also drew on their colonies for manpower and supplies throughout the war.
