In Canada, they have a Constitutional Monarchy & a Parliamentary-Cabinet type government. In America, we have a Presidential-Congressional type government. But both countries are democracies.;]

China is not a democratic country. As long as you have money, you can get almost whatever you want. Elections are infrequent, scattered and often completely pointless and used to elect minor officials or figureheads who have already been elected by members of the local communist party. If you have power, you are able to corrupt judges. One of the most serious problem of China is the lack of a free press. Without a free press the real problems and injustices can not be revealed to the population.
Hong Kong and Macau are two political entities that have reunited with China in recent past. Hong Kong remained a British colony till 1997 and Macau was a Portuguese colony till 1999.Both are now considered special administrative regions in China.
