Stevens manufactured the Sears 2200 semi auto in the early to mid 1980's. Stevens recalled certain models in 1982 for inspection due to a possible safety malfunction at no cost to the owner. Serial numbers recalled were B256621 or higher, C000001 or higher, D000001 or higher. The number you have provided is not a serial number but looks like a Sears part number.
The Sears model 2200 is the same as a Savage Model 80 Series A.

The first thing you need to do is go to wisners.com and look at the cross reference chart to see the real manufacturer and model #. Once you know that the rest should be a breeze.

There's a big difference between serial 22, 220, and 2200 (all first year of production), 22000 (1895), 220000 (1901), and 2200000 (1956-57).
