The trigger is held by 2 screws and one pin that needs to be pressed out. See the link at the bottom of this page.
Do not use the action replay it screws up your system!
The wooden forend on that gun extends back along both sides of the receiver. There is a big honking screw that goes through the wood and the receiver from left to right. Remove that screw and you will be able to remove the trigger group downward and rearward. Please be careful not to lose the disconnector from the right side of the trigger group. Do not dry fire the trigger group. In fact, my advice is not to attempt to disassemble the trigger group unless you are very familiar with that action. Yeah, Rick. Remove the screws attaching the frame to the body. Your trigger sear will detach from the hammer lug which is the resistance that you will feel when pulling the frame from the body. Be mindful of the actuating rod that connects the trigger frame to the 3-way piston (the rod will slide out of the trigger frame).
The trigger guard is available from Numrich Gun Parts. There are two different types of trigger guards for the Savage 6d. The plastic guard that has a inletted area for the trigger guard in the stock and the simple bent metal trigger guard that just screws into the stock wood. It is very easy to adjust the trigger on a Model 700 Remington. Remove the rifle from the stock and there is 3 small screws you can adjust. One is for the lbs. of trigger pull, which be careful you don't make it so easy it's a hair trigger and could go off just by the jar from closing the bolt. The other is to adjust the length of trigger pull.

If it has a bolt action Hold trigger all the way back while sliding bolt back it will slide all the way out. the rest is just removing the screws to remove stock and other parts...u should be able to clean well from there
