Iver Johnson made that shotgun along with some of the same type for Sears Roebuck
your Western field model 60 shotgun was made by Savage arms for Montgomery Wards(western Field). The Savage model 620A and your shotgun are one and the same.If you go to Savage arms home page, they may be able to say when the model 620A shotgun was produced.
I think your shotgun was made for Montgomery Ward by Savage as their Model 620A. SOME parts are available from Numrich. These were made starting in the mid 50's, and are about $150, depending on condition.
Lefever Nitro Special made by Ithaca. Montgomery Ward just put their name on it.
Ithaca did not make any Wards Western Field Shotguns. Most were made by Stevens/Savage or Mossberg.Western Field, the Montgomery Ward brand name, should not be confused with Western Arms Company, a division of Ithaca that made shotguns that appear identical to Ithaca's Lefever Nitro Special from 1929 to 1946.
$200-$300 in great shape.
your Western field model 60 shotgun was made by savage for Montgomery Wards. The Savage model 620A is the model designation for your shotgun. If you go to savage,s web site you should be able to find the date these shotguns were made.
I would guess it was made by Stevens.
Mossberg, A= 12 Ga, B=Dept Store Model, R= deluxe. It's a Mossberg 500.
The Western Arms Corp was created by Ithaca Gun Company in 1929 to introduce a new, low cost double barrel shotgun. The new gun was called the Long Range Double. They also made the Long Range Double Deluxe which was usually made exclusively for the Montgomery Ward Company and sold by them under the name Western Field Deluxe. Parts may be available through: Numrich gunpartscorp.com Jack First jackfirstgun.com Bob's Gun Shop gun-parts.com
150-300
I can't find any Western Field Deluxe models in my lists, but M60, M61, S861, SB66, SB60A, and SB067 are all Savage 620 Deluxe or Savage 621 Deluxe models. That gun is the Lefever Nitro Special which was owned by Ithaca at time of mfg. My 12 GA has 2 ivory beads and get this--a rosewood stock. Special made gun for somebody. If you go to http.//www.e-gunpart.com/crossref.asp you will be able to cross reference from house name to manufactured name then go to websitehttp.//www.gun-data.com and you should be able to search by manufacture name and model # to findout years ffirearm was made.
