If your Ranger is a bolt action .22, it is likely a Marlin Model 80 made for Sears.
Ranger Shotguns were sold by Sears Roebuck and Company. Several companies made the Ranger including J. Stevens Arms, Merlin, and Hunter Arms.

Well, My cross reference says the model 34 was really a Marlin 80 which was made from 1935 to 1939. But both the Blue Book and Standard Catalog say the model 80 was a bolt action repeater, not a single shot.
Savage/Stevens.
Browning didnt make a 22 bolt action single shot. They made the T-Bolt and A-Bolt models in .22LR, but both had magazines. None were single shots.
No published sn data.
