Your question is somewhat incomplete. Both Crosman and Daisy made air guns for Sears under the JC Higgins Brand name. Any model that started with 126.xxxxx was made by Crosman, any model that started with 799.xxxxx was made by Daisy. So to answer your question, Both companies made JC Higgins air rifles going back to the 20's in both calibers .177 and .22. If you post all the model numbers I MAY be able to tell you more about your air rifle. The numbers that come after 126 identify the exact Crosman model.
This appears to be a 1894 Winchester style rifle made by Daisy. All 799.xxxx JC Higgins were made for sears by Daisy air rifle. Crosman made all 126.xxxx rifles for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Your particular rifle was made between 1952 & 1955
JC Higgins air rifles were made by Crosman and Daisy air gun. Models 126 were made by Crosman and models 799 were made by Daisy. If you have a model you are wondering about, post the model number and I will try to answer it. BUT give a description of the condition of the gun or rifle and if it is still working. The more information the better chance I will have at placing a value on it.
Your quseton is a little vague. Are you asking about an Air Rifle? with a wooden stock?
This is a two part answer for you. First the Rifle was made by Crosman air guns. Any JC Higgins air gun starting with 126 was made by Crosman any model starting with 799 was made by Daisy air gun. My Catalog list the 126-1930 as a Crosman 140/1400 the 1400 was a later model of the 140. This makes me think that the 1930(1) represents the 1400 model (Check Youtube and look for a Crosman 1400 and see if this is your model). If So then the rifle is worth around. $75 plus or minus. The 1400 rifle was made between 1968-78. Its a pump rifle that shoots a .22 cal pellet at 580 feet per second.
I am not sure of all this information but I can tell you this. Any JC Higgins BB rifle/gun starting with 126 was made by Crosman airgun. Any BB rifle/gun starting with 799 was made by Daisy airgun for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Now for your rifle. I believe it is a rifle. (Right?) It has a lever action and looks similar to a Winchester? If so, it originally was made by the P.Y. Hahn company but was bought out by Crosman. It's called the Crosman model 166 (Hahn Super BB Repeater) made 1958-71. I can't give you a value, because you have not stated the condition of the rifle. Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair or Poor. Does it still work? I need to know more information to give you an estimate.
I believe you may want to check your numbers again. I think it may be 126 not 128. However if it is 126 then it was made by Crosman for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Your numbers don't seem to match anything I can find, but Crosman appears to be the original maker.
If it is a JC Higgins pellet rifle it was made by Crosman or Daisy air guns. If the model number starts with 126 it was made by Crosman. (www.corsman .com) Crosman has all their manuals for parts on the web page. If the model number starts with 799 it was made by Daisy (www.daisy.com) you will have to contact them to get your information.
If this is a BB gun, then there are numbers associated with it. They start with 799 or 126. I need these numbers to Identify who made the rifle and it will also Identify the model.
JC Higgins sold over a dozen air rifles made by Daisy and Crosman. Which one are you asking about? I am asking about model # A302688 made in the 1950ies? All the Daisy models began with 799.xxxxx and all the Crosman models started with 126.xxxxx. I believe #A302688 is a serial number and not a model number. If you can locate either 126. or 799. on the rifle that will give more information as to the identify of who made it. Also please state the current condition of the rifle, is it still working? Is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition. The current condition determines much of the value. I do not have a listing of every model made for sears (JC HIggins) But I'll help you if I can. Here's an example. 126.19041 is really a Crosman V350 and in good condition is worth around $70 to $85. I would lean toward the $70 because it's a JC Higgins model and not as desirable as a Crosman model. Even though it's was made by Crosman.
Daisy air rifle and Crosman air guns made air rifles for Sears under the Higgins name. Any Air rifle that starts with 799 was made by Daisy air rifle. Any air rifle that starts with 126 was made by Crosman. To get them repaired I suggest that you go on-line and search "Air Gun Repair." There are several places around the USA that repairs and reseals old air guns.
I think you may want to check your numbers again. I believe they are 799.2028 not 7892028. If I am right, then the air rifle was made by Daisy air gun co. for Sears using the JC Higgins brand name. None of my catalogues list this particular number but I know that all airguns that start with 799 were made by Daisy and all JC Higgins airguns that start with 126 were made by Crosman air gun co. I suggest you contact Daisy directly to see if they can give you an estimate of value.Daisy has a service to evaluate older Daisy air guns. (See the link below.)
My catalogue list the JC Higgins model 126.2831 as a Crosman model 180. I believe your 126.2830 is also the same model. (Crosman and Daisy made air guns for Sears.) If I am right then see the link below
