The name of the first gun was probably a word in the language of China, India, or an Arabian country. We don't know who made it, or exactly when, but early crude firearms began appearing in those parts of the world in the mid 1400's.
The first was the gatling gun invented in 1862

But the "Girandoni" was invented for the Austrian Army to be used in battle. from 1780 to 1815. It was invented by Bartholomäus Girandoni. Louis and Clark carried one on their trip across the USA. Long before Daisy's were ever made. No one today knows the name of the first air gun.
