I have seen Model 37 Marlins in "The Gun Digest" twice in the past year with one asking price of around $300 and the other over $800.
I have one made around 1920 I think.
Mine's bolt is worn where the alignment lug on the bottom of the bolt does not fully support the cartridge which results in the case head blowing out into the female portion of the alignment slot in the chamber. This allows powder to blow back into the shooter's face.
I am looking for a replacement bolt as my local gunsmith says it can't be repaired.
Do you know where I can buy a bolt?
Big Shrek knows :)

Parts are also the same for a Marlin model 29...the 29 has a slightly shorter barrel & half-size magazine tube, that's the only differences.
The Marlin model 24 shotgun was produced by Marlin from 1908-1915.
well marlin introduced the marlin model 43 in 1922 so mabey when u figure out what you really have you could try another question My Marlin Model 43 12 gauge pump (Model number is stamped underneath, in front of the trigger guard) has Pat. 1908 on the barrel. There is also a patent date of 1922. Looks like Marlin did produce the Model 43 earlier than the 1922 date you have.
The Marlin model 24 shotgun was made during the years 1908-1915.

With the serial number that you provided,I would say that your marlin model 1892 was made in either 1907 or 1908.

I would say that with the serial number provided, your Marlin model 1897 was made in the year 1908-1909.
There was no Model 1908, so I am assuming you are looking at the 1908 patent date on the barrel. Which is wierd, since the only .25 caliber slide-action rifles produced by Marlin were the Model 27 (.25/20) and 27S (.25 RF) which did not have the 1908 date. Please doublecheck your information.
