I have a model 99 .300 Savage and I am curious of the value. I have no idea what year it was manufactured but it is in excellent condition.
Sorry- there are at least 24 different Savage Model 99s. Value is driven by EXACT make/ model, and condition. With the exception of the 99E, most are worth around $450-$550 in good/ very good condition. Some rare versions are worth more.

I have one I purchased in 1975 at a JC Penney store in Anchorage, Alaska 37 years ago. if that helps answer your question. At that time I paid $88.95 for it but it's probably worth more than that now. I bought the Savage 24C Series SP. I carried it a lot while visiting the land I bought on Lazy Mountain just outside of Palmer Alaska by Wolverine Lake. Haven't shot it in many years, just like having it as a souvenir I guess. Only thing missing right now is the black Buttplate and the Trap Cover that flipped out to put extra ammo in the stock of the shotgun. Looking for those but quite difficult to find here in Texas where I now live.
Yes you can
There were several model variations of the model 99 in 1950 and a variety of chamberings, some more valuable than others. The most common model 99 of that time was the 99-EG and its value depends on condition and caliber. Value is from $75 in poor condition to $900 in excellent condition according to Blue Book Value. in gunshops in America in 2010 I see EG models in 90% condition with price tags fo 600 to $650 US, if you want to use that as a guide. most are in 300 Savage. The sp is a designation showing the barrel is proofed for smokeless powder use.

When determining the exact value of a Barbour SP Co 3716, a couple different factors would need to be taken into consideration. Some of these factors would include the age and condition.
