Production, factory made Mannlicher style Model 70 rifles were only made "Post 64" The years of production were from 68 until 70. Current prices of collectible Winchester rifles are zooming daily. Less than one year ago it was possible to buy a Model 70 Mannlicher in cal 30-06 for $500 - $700. the other calibers were more. Now, the base 30-06 is bringing over $1000 for almost any condition rifle. Condition is the first consideration when pricing a rifle. (Some rare calibers can be higher priced than a common caliber in perfect condition.). The caliber 30-06 is the most common. About 1200 were produced. The most scarce is the .308 only 218 (+/- ) were made.. About half of the total number of Model 70 Mannlicher rifles were sent to overseas markets. The .308 can bring upwards of $5000 if it is in new condition and in the factory box. Remember, "prices" are only set when a buyer and a seller agree. An "asking price" is not necessarily the value of the rifle. If you are interested in selling, trading or donating your Winchester M70 Mannlicher Style rifle, contact me, Steve at iflya310@yahoo.com. BEWARE!!: I have been told there are counterfeit stocks available on the internet that are similar to factory stocks. I believe they are being sold as "original" and advertised as popular among "backpackers." I think the seller states you can double or triple the value of your rifle by purchasing his stock and putting it on your rifle. ... WHAT EVER!! It is a simple matter to determine if your M70 Mannlicher is original or not. If it is not original, the value is severely diminished.
