1893-1957 BY JOHN BROWING CAME IN 12-16 GAUGE PUMP ACTION VARIOUS BARREL LENGTH.
Guns made after 1957 will have the model number stamped on the frame and visible when you open the cylinder. On earlier guns, they had model names instead of model numbers.
the price was $2.00
It depends upon the aspiration. The dual carb setup, (the fullhouse) made about 285. The F.I. model, was closer to 290. Single 4 barrel, about 260. and with a 2 barrel, I think around 225.
Model numbers were not used until @ 1957. Chiefs Special or if after 57 a Model 36
My records indicate that by your serial number you have a Browning auto-5 light weight 12 gauge shotgun that was made in the year 1957.If your shotgun does not have a cutts or polychoke attached it has 2 distinct values. One is for the plain barrel model, and for the vent rib barrel model. In the condition that you describe(90%-95%)of its original finish remaining,I would put the value of the plain barrel model as between 850-925 dollars. The vent rib barrel model will be between 1,050-1,125 dollars.
In the condition you describe,I would say that its value will be between 400-550 dollars.
The cost of mailing a standard letter within Australia in 1957 was 4d (four pence).
can anyone tell me wow much it is worth\ the stamp was circulating in 1957 or 1958
In 1957-1958 Browning assigned the letter A to the sweet-sixteen model auto-5 shotgun. The serial number range was between 1-10,900.Yours is one of these shotguns. The value in 80%-90% overall condition will bring between 625-725 dollars for a plain barrel model,825-950 dollars for a solid matte rib barrel model,or 875-1,050 dollars for a vent rib barrel model.
