A savage model 69RXL Series E is a Law Enforcement Riot Gun with an 18" barrel and an open choke for use with #00 Buck Shot.
All guns should have the information stamped onto the barrel. Most of the time it is near the action. Look on the barrel of your shot gun and it should tell you the make, model, caliber (or in your case with a shot gun) the gauge, for shot guns the size of shell the gun takes, and finally the choke the shot gun has. If it is a screw on choke it should saw on it.
To determine different shot patterns
Either a full choke,or extra full choke shotgun barrel.

I believe that the original manufacture was done by Mossberg and sons.It could be 2 different models thou.If your shotgun is a 2 shot and has a 2 3/4in chamber ,then it is the model 190 series of shotgun that was made from 1955-1958.If your shotgun has a 2 shot detachable magazine and 3in.chamber then it is a model 390 series which was made from 1971-1976.I hope that you find this informative.

Take your gun to a local gun smith or dealor. They should be able to check to see if your barrel is a full choke. If so, they can shorten the barrel and remove the choke. That way it will become a open choke to allow the use of a slug. While they are shortening your barrel have them mount your site also. Good luck!!!!!!!
I have a belgium 12 gauge browning shot gun with the serial #B67119. I am trying to find out what type or size choke it has
How much the shot is constricted as it leaves the barrel.
The TIGHTEST choke (which is smallest) is the Extra Full. The largest (no choke at all) is known as a cylinder bore.
IF ANY SHOT GUN HAS A MOD CHOKE OR IMPROVED ITS OK, ONLY FULL CHOKE WILL NOT BE SAFE, BULGING IN THE BARREL MAY OCCUR.
