Do you mean the ancient Hwarang, or the modern martial art?
Originally the Wonhwa were a court of women is Silla (one of the three kingdoms of ancient Korea), their precise function is unclear, but they were trained in ethics, not combat.
The first group called the Hwarang ("Flowering Man") were a recreation of the Wonhwa with boys instead of girls, however they were trained in ethics like the Wonhwa and were not military and as such, originally had no particular weapons at all.
In the 6th and 7th century they were trained with weapons and sports such as horsemanship, swords, bow and arrow, javelin, stone throwing, ladder climbing, and polo. At this point, they were an elite group of the nobility and aristocrats, while they had military exploits as well, they were not yet a military, though they did study Subak and Taekkyon, both are forerunners for modern day Taekwondo.
During the Joseon Dynasty, after the fall of Silla, Hwarang came to mean male shaman.
Hwa Rang Do is a martial art founded by two brothers who learned many Martial Arts sometime in the 40's or 50's. Not really related to it's ancient counterpart it is only named after it. Hwa Rang Do is very extensive, with over 4,000 techniques and 108 weapons. So the answer for modern day Hwa Rang Do is anything and everything, really. The three main weapons, however, are Ssang Bong (Nunchaku), Jang Bong (Long Staff), and Gum Mu (Sword).
Hwoarang was created in 1997.
It is only Hwoarang that hates Jin. Jin doesn't hate him at all. But Jin got angry with Hwoarang after Jin lost to him;he turned into his demon form and almost killed hwoarang and Hwoarang wants revenge on Jin and his Devil form. Hwoarang's hatred for Jin started because Jin was the only opponent that defeated him in a street fight.

he has no surname. he is just called Hwoarang.
Jin beat Hwoarang in a street fight (which Hwoarang has never officially lost a street fight in his career as a Korean ganster before that), so Hwoarang went after Jin looking for a rematch, ditching his draftment into the Korean military. However, they caught up to him before Hwoarang could complete his goal.
