1942 Winchester lever action 410 is a common gun. For this reason, it does not have a lot of value and is worth between $175-$300.
cooey 410 gauge model 840 Winchester Canada. single shot
There was/is no such thing as a 1940's vintage Winchester lever-action .410. Winchester did make a slide-action (pump) .410 shotgun called the Model 42 during the 1940s.

Please re-read the markings and repost. There is no such thing as a 22 short 410 long rifle.

the Winchester 9410
-- Answer -- The question refers to the Winchester Model 37 single-shot. In the Winchester 37, the .410 is worth more than the 12ga or 20ga. The 'red letter' versions bring a premium (red coloring in the 'Winchester' markings). The larger bore shotguns will bring $200-$250, the .410 at $350 maybe $400 if really really nice. sales@countrygunsmith.net
What Model number? Winchester made .410 shotguns in a half dozen different models. Today they range in value from not worth the trouble to sell them to a healthy down payment on a new car. Also required is the condition of the firearm.
Between 250-410 dollars, depending on overall condition and a good bore.
The winchester model 42 was a .410 pump very like the old model 12 pump
