It is marked on the barrel.
The Western Field model 72 lever-action rifle was made by Mossberg and generally resembled the Marlin 336. These two rifles are not the same an no parts interchange EXCEPT for the scope mounts. The same bases that work on the Marlin 336 will work on the Western Field (or Mossberg or Revelation versions).
had to be in the 40s. i have one i grew up with and i started shooting it in 1950. i know it was not new when i began to use it.They were made from 1933 to 1935, and cross-reference to a Mossberg model 30.
Several companies made firearms for Montgomery Wards under the Western Field name (also for Sears, Western Auto, JC Penney, etc etc) Without the markings on your rifle to indicate WHICH model, there is no way for us to make an educated guess. Closely examine the barrel and the receiver for any markings- you may need to use a strong light- and let us know what you find. There are several cross we can use to decipher who made what- but not without that information on that is on your rifle.
There is no serial number, the rifle was made before serial numbers were used, Mossberg did not commonly use serial numbers, when they did use them it was like for the model 44's etc. as military trainers.
The Western Field model 30 pump action shotgun and the Stevens model 520 shotgun are one and the same firearm.Savage/Stevens made these for Montgomery Wards. The shotgun in question should show that it was chambered for the 12 gauge shotshell. The length of these shotgun shells were 2 3/4in. If your shotgun is not marked,I would have a gunsmith make a quick check of the chambering for you. This will only take a couple of minutes to do.
your western field model 550cd was made by mossberg, there model number is 500B.I would try numrich gun parts corp.for your barrel, and use the mossberg 500B number for parts identification.
The Western Field 22115 XF is a 12 gauge bolt action adjustable gun. It has been in use since the World War I.?æ

Depends on what choke it has.
I'm not sure but I have one in mint condition but don't have a clip. do you know where I am obtain one? L. Baker\ tankmouse1967@yahoo.comThe Western Field model 37 cross-references to a Mossberg model 30 and was made between 1933 and 1935.It is also a single-shot manual-cocking bolt-action and does not use any sort of magazine.
Mossberg 'Western Field' Model 150 .410 bore bolt- action repeating shotgun with a 24" full-choke barrel in 93% condition or better. This gun looks as if it has seen very little use. We grade conservatively, so you will be happy with your purchase! This gun is actually labeled 'Western Field' which is a store brand (Montgomery Ward's). This is actually a Mossberg 183 shotgun without the adjustable choke. A fine choice for a first shotgun, for hunting squirrels or rabbits, or for general utility use.
