It's rated at 645 with pellets and 680 with BB's
The Crosman 1077 is far superior. For two reasons. It is a true Pellet rifle and has a rifled barrel that makes it more accurate. The Recruit is a BB / Pellet rifle with a smooth boar barrel. The 1077 is modeled after the real Ruger 1022.
See the attached link below for the parts diagram. This pistol was made between 1953-54. Crosman no longer has parts for it. However they offer a free locater of shops the repair Crosman antiques.

In 1977 The Benjamin Rifle company purchased Sheridan air gun company. In 1992 Crosman purchased Benjamin. So now Crosman owns both Benjamin and Sheridan.
