To remove the plug from an 1100 or similar first remove the magazine cap. Below that you will notic a thin spring steel part that is "pressed" into the magazine.
This needs to be gently pried out using a flat screwdriver or other such tool. Be VERY careful to hold your hand over the cap as it will go flying across the room with great force if allowed to fly free once the cap is removed! Also being careful to gently allow the magazine spring to expand will avoid damaging it.
Now tip the gun down and a green plastic "Plug" will slip out. Replace the magazine spring and spring steel plug, then reattach the end cap.
Now check your local laws! Migratory birds normally may not be hunted without the 3 shot plug in place! Make sure you are legal and good hunting!
The average price of a Remington 870 Express Magnum pump 12 gauge shotgun "brand new" is about 300-450 dollars. I got mine used for $250
Remove the cap from the end of the tube and be careful of the spring which is under pressure. The plug will come out with the cap.
You can request a owner's manual at the Remington web site.
the lower tube has a removable round nut, remove it slowly a spring will come out, the plug is at the bottom, turn over the shotgun and the plug will fall out. make sure of local game laws if your taking it into the woods. every place has laws and limits on the number of rounds a gun can carry
Best left to a gunsmith
While hunting, yes. Otherwise, no.
Best to ask a gunsmith for help.
If you are referring to the magazine tube plug. The answer would be No. It is put there for bird hunting regulations only.
You will need to remove the oil pan plug. Allow the old oil to drain out. Replace the oil pan plug and fill with new oil.
Take the plug out of the mag. unscrew the cap, pop out the spring stopper with a screwdriver. remove the spring and plug. Put the spring back in without the plug.
Best left to a trained gunsmith.
To remove the plug on a Remington 870 series all you need to do is unscrew the cap on the end of the magazine tube. Carefully because it holds in the magazine spring. the plug is the rod that is inserted in the spring so it cannot compress fully to limit capacity so just take it out and screw the cap back on (the cap compresses the spring) and voila. takes about twenty seconds.
